چکیده
This work analyzes the impact of delay spread on IEEE 802.15.4a networks using energy detection (ED) receivers. Specifically, we review the typical values for delay spread in Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems reported to date for indoor, outdoor and industrial environments, and study how the delay spread impacts the bit-error rate with and without Multiuser Interference (MUI).

Time Delay Characteristic of Industrial Wireless Networks Based on IEEE 802.15.4a
The IEEE 802.15.4a standard provides a framework for low-data-rate communication systems, typically sensor networks. In this paper, we established a realistic environment for the time delay characteristic of industrial network based on IEEE 802.15.4a. Several sets of practical experiments are conducted to study its various features, including the effects of 1) numeral wireless nodes, 2) numeral...
متن کاملA Robust Reception of IEEE 802.15.4a IR-TH UWB in Dense Multipath and Gaussian Noise
IEEE 802.15.4a impulse radio-time hopping ultra wide band (IR-TH UWB) physical layer, due to small duty cycle and very short pulse widths is robust against multipath propagation. However, scattering and reflections with the large number of obstacles in indoor channel environments, give rise to dense multipath fading. It imposes serious problem to optimum Rake receiver architectures, for which v...

We introduce the deployment of IEEE 802.15.4a in industrial field level communication, which is unexplored so far. Impulse radio-time hopping ultra wide band (IRTH UWB) physical layer is robust against dense multipath fading and interferences. However, we propose an adaption in medium access control (MAC) to meet the major constraints of reliability and timeliness. The self configuring MAC over...
متن کاملAn Energy Efficient Clustering Method using Bat Algorithm and Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes with limited energy. Energy efficiency is an important issue in WSNs as the sensor nodes are deployed in rugged and non-care areas and consume a lot of energy to send data to the central station or sink if they want to communicate directly with the sink. Recently, the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol is employed as a low-power, low-cost, and low rat...
